Sarinah: The Stage for Indonesian Excellences
Welcome to the Transformed Sarinah.
Now celebrating 63 years since its establishment in 1962, Sarinah has refined its journey and presence into a more modern, contemporary, and cross-generational destination.
Sarinah’s journey through the decades has been dynamic and filled with challenges. Yet, Sarinah has not only survived but revived—fulfilling the founding vision of President Soekarno to become a platform for showcasing Indonesia’s finest local products.
Since its reopening after renovation in March 2022, and its official inauguration by President Joko Widodo on July 14, 2022, Sarinah has welcomed over five million visitors. It marks an impressive beginning to a new era of transformation. The distinctly Indonesian shopping experience offers a wide range of products from culinary delights, fashion, beauty, wellness, household needs, supermarket goods, jewelry, crafts, souvenirs, and gifts, to many more standout brands and creations by MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, artists, and creative economy players.
Today, Sarinah is rich with green open spaces, ideal for shopping and spending quality time with family, friends, relatives, or even business partners while enjoying the metropolitan atmosphere and twilight views of the city. The most popular open-air attractions are Anjungan Sarinah and the Skydeck, both revitalized spaces that also preserve cultural heritage artifacts such as the historic Relief Wall, Indonesia’s first escalator, and the Reflecting Pool.
Carrying the slogan “The Stage for Indonesian Excellences,” Sarinah brings together an ecosystem of retail, tourism, trade (including exports), arts, culture, and the creative economy. It is here that you will discover and experience a uniquely Indonesian shopping ambiance set within a heritage environment, appealing to all generations.
Let’s support and prioritize locally made products. Come and enjoy Sarinah’s diverse spaces: a space for shopping, a space for culture, a space for creativity, a space for lifestyle, and a digital space, all in one iconic destination.
