Jakarta, December 15, 2025 – Pipilaka, an immersive performance and art installation that brings together sculptural artworks, technology, storytelling, and life philosophy, has officially opened at Sarinah, Jakarta. The exhibition runs from December 15, 2025, to March 8, 2026. The opening ceremony was attended by ministers, state officials, public figures, celebrities, and key players from the creative industry.
Pipilaka is rooted in the philosophy of Pipilaka—meaning ant, a small creature that represents cooperation, care, and perseverance. This philosophy forms the foundation of the entire Pipilaka performance: that great change always begins with small actions carried out together.
“Pipilaka is about sharing positive energy, imagination, and care—for fellow human beings and for nature,” said Wahyadi, Founder of Pipilaka, in his opening remarks.
President Director of PT Sarinah, Raisha Syarfuan, expressed that Sarinah is proud to be the home of Pipilaka. “For Sarinah, PIPILAKA is not merely an exhibition, but an example of how art can truly come alive within the right public space. As Indonesia’s cultural hub, Sarinah serves as a platform that connects creative works with a broad audience, allowing messages of humanity and care for nature to be delivered in a relevant and impactful way,” said Raisha.
AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE FOR ALL AGES
Pipilaka presents an immersive sculptural art installation that combines Pipilaka character sculptures with visuals, music, and immersive technology, bringing the characters to life as if they are speaking and delivering messages about the environment, human values, and togetherness in an engaging and easily understood way for children, families, and the general public.
The experience is further brought to life through the involvement of voice artists for the Pipilaka characters, including Rossa, Fadil Jaidi, Cinta Laura, Soimah, Dwi Sasono, Nirina Zubir, Agus Ringgo, and Heruwa, who lend character, emotion, and depth to the Pipilaka story.
Unlike conventional exhibitions, Pipilaka invites visitors to actively engage, experience, and interact, ensuring that the messages conveyed are not only seen but also felt.
SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL VALUES
Beyond being a space for art and entertainment, Pipilaka carries an educational and social mission. The project is designed to foster early awareness of the importance of caring for nature, respecting one another, and living together sustainably.
Proceeds from Pipilaka ticket sales are also allocated to support educational programs and social initiatives, with a focus on children and art communities.
