Sarinah Holds Sarinah Festiloka 2025: A New Space to Celebrate Tradition

Jakarta, June 20, 2025 - In celebration of Jakarta's 488th anniversary, PT Sarinah (Persero) held Festiloka Sarinah 2025 on Friday (20/6) at Anjungan Sarinah Thamrin, Jakarta. The festival, which runs for three days from today until Sunday (22/6), is a stage for Betawi and Indonesian culture that is packaged with a new, fresher and more relevant spirit.

Festiloka, which stands for Festival and Local, carries the theme “From Tradition to Generation.” Through this festival, Sarinah shows the realization of its ongoing Transformation 2.0, which is the transformation into a retail space that is more than just a place to shop. Sarinah is now a collaborative platform that brings cultural heritage to life with a fresh approach, while embracing new generations through creative expressions that are relevant to the times.

President Director of PT Sarinah (Persero), Raisha Syarfuan said "Through Festiloka, we want to show that Indonesia's cultural heritage is not only to be remembered, but also celebrated and developed with the current generation. Sarinah is here as a bridge between the past and the future,"

One of the highlights of the event was the presence of three ondel-ondels reinterpreted by renowned Indonesian designers Wilsen Willim, Ria Miranda, and Mel Ahyar. Each presents a distinctive style that breathes new life into this Betawi cultural icon that still honors its traditional roots, yet appears more contemporary.

Sarinah also collaborated with Harper's Bazaar Indonesia to present a public installation titled “Senandung Taman”. The installation features visual works by Arkiv Vilmansa, Andry Boy, Erwin Windu, Sujana Kenyem, Darbotz, Adi Gunawan and Mangmoel. The installation is designed as a meeting point for art and the public that invites visitors to experience a more expressive side of Jakarta.

Besides being a space for art and cultural presentations, Festiloka also presents a variety of interesting activities. Visitors can watch fashion shows from Batik Chic, Priscilla Margie, and Kebaya Rumah Betawi that showcase a variety of wastras in a contemporary style.

Various Jakarta culinary specialties such as kerak telor, soto Betawi, bir pletok, and selendang mayang also enliven Sarinah Festiloka, bringing traditional flavors that evoke nostalgia. In addition, there are creative workshops for the public to participate in, as well as a festival of selected local products that represent the spirit of Jakarta and Indonesia.

"For us, Sarinah is not just a place for transactions. Sarinah must also be a space for expression, a space to grow, and a space to meet. Festiloka is a form of Sarinah's commitment to continue to be a bridge between local identity and the spirit of the times," Raisha concluded.

Festiloka Sarinah 2025 is open to all. For three days, from June 20 to 22, 2025, Sarinah becomes a space for encounters between culture, creativity, and city life. An opportunity to revisit tradition in a different way through the lens of today's generation.
