Sarinah Strengthens Its Role as a Cultural Experience Centre in Celebrating Jakarta's 499th Anniversary

In collaboration with Nona Rara, Sarinah presents the Betawi Collection Trunk Show as part of the Rupa Jakarta 499 program series.

Jakarta, 22 June 2026PT Sarinah (Persero) continues to strengthen its role as Indonesia's Cultural Experience Centre and a platform for collaboration through the presentation of Rupa Jakarta 499, a series of programs organized to celebrate the 499th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta while honoring the cultural diversity that defines the nation's capital.

As part of the celebration, Sarinah collaborated with one of its featured local brands, Nona Rara, to present the Betawi Collection Trunk Show—a fashion showcase highlighting the beauty of Betawi culture through contemporary designs that resonate with today's generation. The event was also supported by Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) and Abang None Jakarta Pusat, reflecting a shared commitment to preserving Jakarta's cultural heritage amid the city's rapid development.

Ms. Citra Pandansari, Operations Director of PT Sarinah (Persero), stated that Jakarta's anniversary serves as an important occasion not only to celebrate the city's progress but also to appreciate the rich cultural heritage that forms the foundation of its identity."Jakarta is a city that continues to move forward while remaining deeply rooted in its cultural heritage. Through Rupa Jakarta 499, Sarinah aims to create a space where culture, creativity, and the community come together in an inclusive experience. Our collaboration with Nona Rara reflects our commitment to keeping culture alive through creative works that remain relevant in today's world," said Ms. Citra.

As a retailer undergoing transformation into a Cultural Experience Centre, Sarinah consistently creates opportunities for creative industry players, communities, and local brands to showcase works inspired by Indonesia's rich cultural heritage.

Ms. Adisfia Nur Henrista, Brand Manager of Nona Rara, explained that the collaboration provides an opportunity to introduce Betawi culture to the public through an approach that aligns with contemporary lifestyles."Culture is not only something we inherit—it must also continue to be nurtured and presented in ways that are meaningful to today's generation. Through the Betawi Collection, we aim to demonstrate that Betawi's rich cultural heritage can be translated into modern fashion while preserving its values and identity," said Ms. Adisfia.

In addition to the Betawi Collection Trunk Show, Rupa Jakarta 499 features a variety of engaging programs, including the Jakarta Culinary Festival, organized in collaboration with Jakpreneur and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Office of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs (Dinas PPKUKM). Held from 16–26 June 2026 at Beranda Sarinah, the festival showcases a wide selection of Jakarta's signature culinary specialties while providing a promotional platform for supported micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to reach a broader audience.

The Rupa Jakarta 499 celebration is further complemented by special Jakarta 499 promotions and exclusive offers for Sarinah Club members. These initiatives represent Sarinah's appreciation for the City of Jakarta while demonstrating its continued support for MSMEs, creative entrepreneurs, and local brands that play an integral role in the city's economic and cultural ecosystem.

Through Rupa Jakarta 499, Sarinah aspires to remain a collaborative platform where culture, creativity, and the community converge, while supporting Jakarta's growth as a modern, inclusive, and globally competitive city without losing its unique cultural identity.
